Southeastern Correctional Ministry
SCM is a non-profit, religious corporation chartered pursuant to the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Our ministry is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in correctional facilities through programs in the facilities which it serves.
A devoted Board governs SCM and a Director, who is employed by the Board, administers its programs. We serve men and women who desire to have a second chance. After all, we believe we serve a God of second chances.
All materials are provided free to inmates for uniform study in each phase of the ministry. Study courses are graded, recorded and returned to the inmate with a certificate of completion.
Materials are obtained from 1687 Foundation, KCM Prison Ministry, American Rehabilitation Ministry, Guideposts, Daily Bread, Billy Graham Evangelistic Outreach, Foundation of Praise, Love Press, Christian Library International and ECS Ministries.
The ministry is financially supported through local churches that have included SCM in their monthly/annual mission budget or through periodic donations.
Tax-deductible support comes from volunteers, individuals, correctional facilities, businesses, concerned citizens and other charitable organizations. All funds are handled with a Certified Public Accountant to insure the highest degree of accountability.
